What you need for your wedding prep detail shots

Wedding Prep Details Checklist:

You have worked so hard to create a beautiful and memorable day and these little details were/are important to you in the planning, so it's important for me to capture them. Here are 10 hints and tips to prepare for your wedding morning prep photos.

  1. Jewellery: rings, earrings, necklace, bracelets, and any other pieces you’ll be wearing.

  2. Veil: Hang your veil somewhere it won't get wrinkled, and make sure it’s ready for photos.

  3. Flowers: Have your bouquet and buttonholes (boutonnieres) delivered in advance, so they're fresh for flat-lay shots or bridal party photos. Ask your florist for a few extra loose flowers or greenery for styling.

  1. Wedding Invitation: Include your invitations and other paper goods (like RSVP cards or menus) in the prep shots. Flat-lay designs of these items help tell the story of your day.

  2. Perfume: If you're using a special perfume for the day, it can make a lovely addition to your detail shots. The smell will take you back to your bog day for years to come.

  3. Garter: if you have one.

  4. Sentimental Items: Gather any heirlooms, personal mementos, or "something old/new/borrowed/blue" items you want to highlight in your photos.

  5. Shoes: Don’t forget your wedding shoes. They can add a stylish element to your flat lays.

  1. Bridesmaids Accessories: You may want to include matching robes, personalised hangers, gifts or any special details you’ve prepared for your bridesmaids.

  2. Hair & Makeup: I'll be snapping away whilst you are made to feel your absolute best. I always suggest checking out your wedding prep venue/room to make sure there is plenty of natural light, enough space for everyone and room to keep 'rubbish' out of sight.

By organising some of these items in advance, it will ensure that I have everything I need to create stunning detail shots without causing any last-minute stress. These photos help tell the story of your wedding day, from the smallest details to the big moments!

And one last thing......plan timings carefully with hair and make up to ensure there is enough time for some bridesmaid and bridal portraits. Morning prep is such a wonderful time of the day and capturing some moments in your last hour before becoming married is super special.

I can't wait to capture all the magic on your big day!
