I'm Stephanie Atkins Photography and I am an in-home newborn photographer in Hampshire, covering Winchester, Chandler's Ford, Eastleigh, Southampton and surrounding areas.

My style
My style is relaxed and not too ‘posey’. I will prompt and guide you to ensure I get the best from you. I will place you near the light and ask you to tilt your head slightly, but I won't be putting you in weird positions. It's all about capturing the connections and emotions so that you look back on these early days and you'll almost be able to smell that newborn smell again.
If you want the 'baby in a basket' look, then I am not the one for you. I do bring some beautiful blankets, outfits and my beanbag to get some of the photos you see below.
The experience
I am a mum of 2 and I have 10+ years of newborn photography experience. As well a beautiful photos, I place the utmost importance on baby safety and overall experience. I promise to come into your home and become a friend, confidant (I always love to hear the birth story) and a helping hand. I am happy to change nappies, play with toddlers, change outfits and anything else you might need a hand with.

FAQ's
When is the best time to book a newborn session?
Usually after your 20-week scan. That way, we can pencil in your due date and adjust once your baby arrives. Newborns are typically photographed between 5–14 days old when they’re still very sleepy and scrunchy.
What if my baby arrives early or late?
Don’t worry! Babies have their own schedule. I only take a limited number of bookings each month, so we can move your session date to suit when your little one actually arrives.
How long does a newborn session take?
Most newborn sessions last around 2–3 hours. This gives us plenty of time for feeding, nappy changes, cuddles, and settling—without any pressure or rush.
Do you come to our home or do we come to you?
I offer relaxed in-home sessions, so you don’t need to worry about packing up and travelling. I bring everything we need, and we use the natural comfort of your home as the backdrop.
What should we wear?
Keep it simple and neutral—soft tones like browns, creams, greys, and pastels work beautifully. Avoid large logos or busy patterns. Comfort is key, especially for new parents! I have a few items that I can bring for toddlers and mums too.
What do we need to prepare?
Very little! A warm room helps keep baby cosy and sleepy, and I’ll guide you through the rest. Have muslins, nappies, and feeds close by, and that’s all you need. I send a shoot prep guide beforehand too.
Can siblings and parents be in the photos?
Absolutely. In fact, I encourage it! These are some of the most meaningful images—siblings meeting their new baby, parents cuddling together, or quiet family moments.
What if my baby is unsettled or won’t sleep?
This is completely normal! I work at baby’s pace, with plenty of breaks for feeding and cuddling. Awake photos can be just as beautiful, capturing their expressions and little personalities.
Can I have photos of me breast feeding?
Absolutely! I love capturing these precious moments.
Do you provide props and blankets?
Yes, I bring a selection of soft blankets, wraps, and newborn outfits, but I also love to include personal items—like a special blanket or teddy, to make your gallery unique to you.
When will we receive our photos?
You’ll receive your gallery within 6 weeks.

How do we book?
Just get in touch through my contact page www.stephanieatkinsphotography.com and I’ll reserve your session around your due date. Once your baby arrives, we’ll confirm the date that works best for your family. it is just £100 to secure your session and nothing more to pay until baby arrives. Newborn shoots are £485 in total with no hidden costs.
Every shoot comes with print credit so that you can display your favourite images on the wall.
I can't wait to hear from you. Give me a follow on instagram where you can find more of my work, silly stories about my kids and my own sleepless nights. Feel free to ask me any questions.
